Mission and underlying philosophy

If Christ were wandering around the Twin Cities today as he did in Palestine 2000 years ago he would, like then be hanging out with the lost, lonely and homeless. Our purpose as Christians is to bring glory to God and model Jesus Christ. Our goal at Breakthrough Ministries, Inc. is to meet people where they are at and simply love them.

Breakthrough seeks to place an emphasis on the individual that God leads to our organization.

Breakthrough Ministries seeks to serve the Twin Cities homeless. That number is staggering. Research indicates that there are well over 15,000 homeless people in Minnesota. Of that, over 2,000 are sleeping in places that are considered uninhabitable. Places like under bridges, abandoned buildings, cars, etc.

The problems are not always the same. Loss of work, family issues, mental illness, loneliness, hopelessness, lack of self worth, rape, incest, neglect, abuse, hurt, just to name a few.

This is the mission field; it is right here in the Twin Cities and Breakthrough Ministries, Inc. is on a mission!

Organizational Background

Breakthrough Ministries was founded in July of 2009 and officially became a Minnesota nonprofit corporation in September 2009.

The founder of Breakthrough was the Vice President of an organization that worked with people in transitional housing and work release from prison. He developed a passion for people who somehow lost their way. Breakthrough was established in July of 2009 with the goal of ending homelessness. We are a Christian organization that believes the Bible is the inerrant word of God. We believe Jesus Christ came not as a conquering king but at as servant. He gave an example to follow and we believeImage we are called to serve others.

“Leading the lost home” is our mission statement. So many people have lost their way in this world and we believe we play a pivotal role in helping people reestablish their lives.

Current programs and accomplishments: We have recognized that the single most important element of this tragedy is awareness. So, our first priority was to create it. Over the last year and a half we have generated energy around this issue. We have created a path to get people engaged through our mission approach. We have conducted hundreds of short mission trips with the goal of meeting people where they are at. We conduct reconnaissance (locating people), supply need, and ministry mission impact trips. Through these efforts we have developed resources to help supply people with housing supplies that we keep at a warehouse facility where donations are received.

We are an organization with a clear vision and a passion for what should be. Our goal is to be the best community based non-profit in the nation.

Volunteer!

Becoming a volunteer is a great way to see God at work in others and to build a strong faith family. The Body of Christ!
