Breakthrough Devotions

Welcome to Breakthrough devotionals. It is our desire to spread this "Good News" with our ministry partners and those looking for a good word from the LORD. We ask the Father that you will be "blessed and filled with joy" deep in your soul.

Defender

In this economy and in this day in age we all face a multitude of hurts and pain.  I am not referring to the so called mundane everyday things that we have come to find solace and answers about. You either know someone or that someone may be yourself who is so thankful for the things that the Lord is responsible for.  We may even from time to time feel like we are the called and chosen ones when our prayers are answered or when we are given the strength. We say things like “The favor of the Lord is upon us”. Is it?

And if this is so then why do we have so much homelessness, broken families, hurting individuals and lost? Some things God has given us a duty to and today the Lord is saying to each of us: Psalm 82:3 “Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the oppressed, rescue the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked” I believe that our obedience is another person’s breakthrough. Have we ever thought that maybe today is the day to be like Jesus and to trade our prayers for the prayers of another, and to trade our lives f or theirs? In this season of giving do not count what God has in His Kingdom, but let us count what He has deposited into us. Lord I pray this day that you would answer all the prayers of lost souls, hurting people and the children- every prayer that they have prayed openly and silently when words were not enough, may our breakthrough come through leading the lost home one at a time.

Daniel 4:27 Therefore, O King, be pleased to accept my advice: Renounce your sins by doing what is right, and your wickedness by being kind to the oppressed. It may be that then your prosperity will continue.

Be Still

Joshua 10:12, 13 “On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel: “O sun, stand still over Gibeon…” So the sun stood still…, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies.  The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.”

Joshua learned long before King David about breakthrough. While believing in the words of the Lord, Joshua became more than courageous, he became bold. The Lord told him” do not be afraid.”  In essence He said “Be still and know that I am God”. Joshua learned that if he had to be still to let God be God, then the first creation of the universe had to obey the delegated command also. In the beginning God said “Let there be light” and there was light (Gen. 1:3) If Joshua had to obey, then so did the sun, and it did stand still. More...

Good Morning everyone today seems to over whelm me in my emotional life. There seems to be some things that I think that we all need to feel whole and complete. I know this morning that I need the Lord to be my strength and my all in all.  The simplicity of having the sun shine is so huge in that when I see the sun it warms my heart. More...
