Discipleship

Breakthrough's Discipleship Training course is for those who are willing to commit to an extensive 3 month course, 8 hours of training per week. Upon completion graduates are trained up for missional work domestically dedicating themselves to another 15 months of training until completion.

Disciples of the Lord share a set of characteristics. These are,

• They are followers of Jesus
• They look to Jesus as their teacher and learn from him
• They take on the characteristics of the Jesus
• They reflect his character and conduct
• Their love for God, and their neighbors are shown in deeds
• They want to impart what they have learned to others.

Disciples have a great love for God, their neighbor and their Christian brother. They show this love in good deeds. Disciples seek to put Jesus first in everything and count the cost before jumping in. They serve those whom they lead and seek other’s good before their own. Disciples work out of gratitude and love.

A disciple of Jesus works to impart what he has learned to others, fulfilling the ministry Christ has given to them. It is a high calling, but disciples are not asked to do this alone or in their own strength. Instead, in prayer and time in the Word, disciples live in the power of the Holy Spirit knowing that God will work through them to accomplish His purpose.

Our curriculum is an online tool called Discipleship Tools. Searching extensively we agreed that this was the one that Breakthrough Ministries would use to train up men and women in the Gospel.
